We helped a publisher to re-edition their flagship series of student books, covering Maths content from the Junior Cycle to the Leaving Certificate O-Level.
The series of books that we helped re-edition takes students through the Junior Cycle to the Leaving Certificate Examination via a series of worked examples, problem exercises, technical illustrations, and explanatory text. On this project, we acted as subject-expert editorial managers, which involved overseeing a re-design, significant rewriting of content, and an overall streamlining and modernisation of the books' approaches to each course.
Our client had no dedicated subject expertise within their in-house team, and so our primary objective was to provide this subject expertise, whilst also acting as editorial managers in such a way that worked with the teams and processes already in place on the project.
As part of this editorial management role, we helped devise and develop a consistent mathematical style; we copy edited and proofread all new author-written content, working with authors and advisors as we did so. We worked closely with the client’s in-house editor to carry a total of 59 chapters of text and solutions through a number of proof stages, from first author draft through to final delivery.
Matteo and the team at Orso Publishing were extremely professional, efficient and reliable, communicated clearly at all stages and met tight deadlines on a challenging maths project.
I have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone seeking editorial services.
